The Friends of Virgin Islands National Park hosts the “Beach-to-Beach Power Swim” each year to afford St. John youth free swimming instruction in V.I. National Park. However, the 17th Annual Beach-to-Beach Power Swim scheduled for May 24 has been canceled to adhere to the restrictions in place to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

But the kids still need to learn to swim! So, the Friends organization is asking people to consider showing support for “Learn to Swim” on St. John in a new way this year. Take the pledge to swim (or walk/run) wherever you are by June 30 to help raise funds for the Learn to Swim program on St. John. Each swimmer/runner/walker will receive the 2020 Power Swim T-shirt and a participation medal with the first $65 donated.

Visit the Friends of Virgin Islands National Park’s “2020 Virtual Power Swim” website to learn more or email [email protected]. (https://www.teamunify.com/team/vips/page/home)
