Three more Virgin Islanders’ test results came back positive for COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the territory’s total to 40. The Department of Health reported three new positive results Thursday morning, another four Thursday afternoon, then three more on Friday afternoon. Of the 40 confirmed cases, 12 are on St. Croix, 26 on St. Thomas and two on St. John. Another 184 tests came back negative and 42 tests are still pending. The Health Department reports that 34 have recovered. While no USVI deaths have been reported, UVI employee Jason Brewer, director of the Center for Student Success, left the territory on March 23 and was in Kentucky from March 24 until his death from COVID-19. He was reportedly ill with a cough at the time of his departure.
