The Paradise 48 Film Festival will host its first installation of filmmaking workshops which are free to anyone interested in film production via Zoom. Facilitated by industry professionals, this one-day intensive is an introduction to the creative and technical aspects of filmmaking. Participants will learn about the craft of screenwriting, storyboarding, creating a shooting script, production management, casting, directing, working on a crew, cinematography, lighting, sound and post-production editing. The schedule of sessions is as follows:
8:30 – 10 a.m. | Basics of Filmmaking by Laurika Jude – Producer
10 – 11:30 a.m. | Art of Screenwriting by Nakia Ford – Writer
11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. | Directing Actors by Irvin Mason – Director (1 – 2 p.m. Lunch)
2 – 3:30 p.m. | Stages of Film Production by John Wheatley – Director
3:30 – 5:00 p.m. | Understanding Production Design by Denise Humphrey – Production Designer
The following weekend, June 17-19, the Paradise 48 Film Festival Competition will commence. Registered teams will have only 48 hours to write, shoot, edit and score an original short film, incorporating hidden elements that will be revealed during the kickoff event.
