The Crucian Christmas Past and Present Gala is coming to the St. George Village Botanical Garden (SGVBG) on Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the great hall.
It has been three years since the last gala at SGVBG due to COVID-19. Sarah Brady, executive director of SGVBG, is excited about the event. “Positive Nelson will be the auctioneer for the event, helping auction off 10 beautifully decorated trees in our live auction,” she said.
There will be many new trees this year, according to Sandy Radczenko, a board member. There will also be a favorite, the Aristree, which has been in many auctions over the years. Additionally there will be the Cruzan Rum Tree and the Shell Tree returning this year.
The sit-down family dinner will be catered by Lori Hubbard of Bluewater Terrace fame. It promises to be a delightful meal.
Steve Katz, a well-known musician on St. Croix, will provide the wonderful music he has made his trademark.
From 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., a silent auction open to guests will offer a wealth of items. Among these are one year of free coffee from Sip, Nibble and Nosh; Cane Bay Dive Shop Private Charter for up to 16 people, a three-night stay at Carambola, a two-night stay at the Ritz Carlton on St. Thomas; round trip airfare on Fly the Whale, Seaborne and Cape Air; gift baskets, scuba gift cards, a gym membership and much more.
The great hall will provide two cash bars and lovely holiday-themed decorations to accompany the 10 festive trees.
