Fidelis Benjamin departed this life on Aug. 13 at the age of 91. H was born on Aug. 2, 1933, on St. Thomas to the late Lucille and Cyril Benjamin.
Fidelis was preceded in death by his wife, Ilene Benjamin; brother, Ethelbert Butty Chase” Benjamin, and sister, Cleopatra Newton.
He is survived by his four children: Ronald “Foot” Setorie, Gary Bonelli, Kim Rollins and Rochelle Benjamin; grandchildren: Ronald and Patrick Setorie, Kyle Bonelli, Jalani Monell, Davion Lawrence, Kareem Tatem and Kennysha Springette; and sisters: Ena Potter and Sheila Benjamin.
He is also survived by nieces: Carmen Andino, Carole Benjamin-Christopher, Yvonne Bennjamin-David, Linda Pickering, Beatrice “Lavie” Potter-Donadelle and Jizelle Benjamin; nephews: Eldred Pinky Potter Jr., Wayne and Tyron Potter, Keith Walters, Dale Benjamin, Emmett Sewer, Frankie Preston, Mark David, Ethelbert Benjamin Jr., Donald Carty and Michael and Milton Newton; as well as many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 3, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness, Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas.
Funeral arrangements are by Turnbull’s Funeral Home and Crematory Services.
