It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Retired Army National Guard, Command Sergeant Major, Charles David Sr., a loving father, devoted husband, and an extraordinary man whose kindness and strength touched the lives of many. He devoted over 30 years of service to the National Guard and his community and dedicated over 20 years to The American Legion.

Charles David Sr. was born and raised on the island of St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, and peacefully departed on March 29 at the age of 76.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Roberts; father, Philip David; stepfather, Cycil Phillips; grandmother, Maria Prentice; grandfather, Viggo Roberts; brothers, James David and Austin David; aunts, Alexandrina Roberts, Eurita Donovan, Merle Roberts, Clara Roberts Henry, Corliss Simmonds, Gertalyn Talor; uncles, Gustave Roberts, Will Roberts, Eldred Roberts, Leroy Moore.

Funeral services will be held on April 23 at Island Center. The viewing will be at 10 a.m., with the service following at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery. Funeral services have been entrusted to James Memorial Funeral Home.
