VIPD Arrest 18-year-old Male for Alleged Rape of Minor

On Thursday, Feb. 26, the Intel Unit and Special Operations Bureau executed an arrest warrant for Jahkeim Bourgeois, 18, in relation to an incident in December 2025, reported the Virgin Islands Police Department.

While executing the warrant, officers discovered that Bourgeois was in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. Bourgeois was then placed under arrest, booked, processed, and turned over to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advice of rights hearing, according to the police report.

The incident occurred Dec. 13, when detectives and officers of the VIPD were dispatched to the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital in reference to a rape. Upon arrival, contact was made with a minor female victim and her mother. The victim stated that the incident occurred at her residence on Dec. 12  during a power outage between the hours of 11 p.m. and 3 a.m. She also stated that the suspect, Bourgeois, used physical force to overcome resistance and forcibly penetrated her, the police report stated.

Bourgeois was charged with aggravated rape in the first degree, unlawful sexual contact in the first degree, child abuse, and possession of an unlicensed firearm. His bail was set at $75,000.
