Community Foundation VI Offering Rapid Response Mini-Grants for Youth Programs

Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands

The Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands (CFVI) is offering rapid response mini-grants to support youth programs. Funding is intended to address critical one-time needs associated with programs, projects and initiatives serving children and youth (ages birth through 24) in the territory. Priority will be given to programs serving children from homes with financial challenges.

Grants will range from $250 to $1,000 with a total of $25,000 available.

Eligible entities include: Nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status (the use of an eligible fiscal sponsor is allowed); churches and houses of worship; and private/ parochial schools. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with a decision/ notification made within two weeks of a completed application being received.

Applications will be accepted through Aug. 15 or until all available funds have been spent down.

Funds must be allocated by Aug. 31 with a summary report due to CFVI by Sept. 15.

Applications from organizations with reports past-due to CFVI will not be considered.

Examples of acceptable grant fund use include (but are not limited to):

Purchase of equipment/ technology to facilitate remote enrichment experiences for youth.

Providing scholarships or partial scholarships to children whose families cannot afford to pay full program tuition

Providing technology tools for students who need such tools to participate in remote enrichment/ learning programs.

Purchase of personal protective equipment (PPE) for staff/ participants of programs that will be meeting with youth in-person.

Applications must be submitted using the application in CFVI’s online grant portal.
