The V.I. Department of Planning and Natural Resources will host pre-registration meetings for commercial fishers in both districts.

Fisher pre-registration will be held from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, June 16, at the La Reine Fish Market on St. Croix, and from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, June 17, at the lower-level auditorium of the Charles W. Turnbull Library, which is located just past Plaza Extra Supermarket on St. Thomas.

“We look forward to seeing our fishers at these informational events designed to help streamline the process in time for license renewal,” said DPNR’s Commissioner Jean-Pierre L. Oriol.

Representatives from the Divisions of Fish and Wildlife, Environmental Enforcement and other agencies will be on hand to guide commercial fishers through the paperwork needed for compliance and to answer any questions. All commercial fishers are strongly encouraged to beat the rush by attending these meetings in their respective districts.

In keeping with COVID-19 protocols, recommendations of the Virgin Islands Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control will be followed. Masks will be required for service.
