The Virgin Islands Energy Office informs all USVI residents of the conclusion of the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Financial Incentive Program. Effective immediately, it will not be accepting any new applications received in the Virgin Island Energy Office after 5 p.m., May 14. Note that all program funds for the 2021 program year have been completely exhausted.

VIEO thanks all of its family, friends, neighbors and small business owners who made this another successful endeavor for the Virgin Islands Energy Office to continue to provide opportunities that ensure the territory achieves its energy consumption goals. Over 300 residents and small business owners received 40 percent rebates on select ENERGY STAR® products purchased in the USVI. Each household had the potential to receive up to $5,000 in rebates.

The Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy program focuses on assisting homeowners, renters and small businesses reduce their energy consumption and carbon footprint by providing a financial incentive to purchase energy-efficient appliances, building materials and products, Solar Rating & Certification Corporation (ICC-SRCC™) solar water heater systems, portable power stations with solar panels, EV charging stations and/or cables, and zero-emission vehicles.

ENERGY STAR® is a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency voluntary program that promotes the development and sale of high-quality energy-efficient products that exceed the federal specifications for energy use.
