Dec. 11: VINP Job Application Seminar
December 11, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
The National Park Service (NPS) will be recruiting for several vacancies in the coming months. Chief Ranger Rick Gupman will host a series of small group discussions on how to apply for those and other federal jobs. NPS invites interested individuals to sign up for one of the sessions. The target audience includes students and adults who are interested in applying for jobs with the federal government. The focus of the conversations will be on: what information to include in your resume and how to navigate the www.USAJOBS.gov website.
The first session will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 8, at the National Park Service’s Cruz Bay Visitor Center. A second session will be held at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 11. Interested individuals must sign up in advance; they can either call Rick Gupman at 776-6201, ext. 254 or email: [email protected] with the person’s full name and which session the person would prefer to attend.
Because these will be small group sessions, space will be limited to the first 10 individuals who respond to each session.
The goal of the session is to provide individuals with the knowledge to understand the federal application process in order to apply for federal jobs. NPS will be recruiting for several positions in the coming months, and all of those positions will require using the same process on the www.USAJOBS.gov website.
These vacancies include student internships, visitor use assistants, biological science technicians, maintenance mechanics, utility system repairers/operators, park guides and maintenance workers.
Please remember that individuals interested in attending one of these small group sessions should sign up in advance. [www.nps.gov/viis]
