Friends of Virgin Islands National Park presents the 17th annual Beach-to-World “2020 Virtual Swim.” This year’s race has gone virtual and will run until June 30. Join with the Friends to raise funds for the Learn to Swim program. The organization needs to raise $10,000 to provide free, year-round swimming lessons to St. John’s youth.
Athletes will pledge to swim (or walk or run) wherever they are and also get their families and friends to support them. Do as little or as much as you like.
The real distances are:
Short Course: from Maho Bay to Cinnamon Bay (1 mile)
Intermediate Course: from Maho Bay to Trunk Bay (2¼ miles)
Long Course: from Maho to Hawksnest (3½ miles)
Learn more; sign up to participate; create a personal fundraising page for the supporters you acquire.
Raise $65 or more and the Friends of the V.I. National Park will send the 17th Annual Beach-to-World Virtual Power Swim long-sleeve rash guard and a participation medal to you.
Stay tuned for more fun details @FriendsVINP in your social media feeds in the coming days. Friends of the National Park will be encouraging people to share their favorite St. John swimming experiences all through the campaign, but especially on Sunday, May 24, which was the original date for the event.
