Home Rumored To Be Owned by Country Music Star Kenny Chesney Sells for Millions

A Peter Bay home rumored to be owned by Kenny Chesney has sold for $4,752,000.

The home, whose documented owner was Grigsby Farms Trust, was sold to Pennsylvania couple Kevin and Elizabeth Donohue on April 12, according to published reports.

The home was originally listed for sale in January 2006 at $5,950,000. The asking price was later reduced to $5 million. The property had been purchased by Grigsby Farms Trust for $3.3 million in October 2004.

The lower Peter Bay home is reportedly where Chesney and movie star Renee Zellweger celebrated before and after their island wedding in early May 2005.

The wedding is rumored to have taken place on a three-acre parcel of land in upper Peter Bay owned by Grigsby Farms Trust, which is currently listed for sale at $8,500,000.

The marriage lasted just four months, with Zellweger filing for an annulment.

The upper Peter Bay land was originally listed in 2006 at $11 million. Chesney also reportedly owns homes in both Chocolate Hole and Susannaberg.

The country music star, who has won numerous awards, including Country Music Television’s 2007 Male Video of the Year and the Academy of Country Music’s 2006 Entertainer of the Year, has long spoken publicly about his love of St. John.

Scenes of the island, including the beach at Peter Bay, are featured in many of Chesney’s promotional photos, including album covers, and the country music star often sings about island life.
