It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Keturah Olivia Jeffers, born on November 6, 1946, and peacefully departed this life on March 7, 2025. Keturah, known for her warmth, compassion, and unwavering spirit, touched the lives of everyone she encountered, leaving an enduring legacy of love and service.

Her family was her greatest treasure. Keturah leaves behind her adopted daughter, Phyllis J. Rivera Ryan; her sons, Aldridge Christian Sr., Keith Martin, Trevor Merchant, and Calvin Merchant; and her beloved grandchildren, K’aeturah Merchant, Alicka Christian, and Aldridge Christian Jr. She is also survived by her sister, Roma Keturah Destine; her niece, Valerie Phillip; and a wide circle of cherished friends.
Keturah was blessed with an extended family of special friends who shared in her joy, her laughter, and her faith. Among them were Sylvia Florent, Lucille Joseph, Loretta Joseph, Alphonsina Rogers, Rita Josiah, Patsy Lee, Janice Maldonada, Spencer and Valerie Richards, Tamisha Gordon, Evelyn Arthurton, Catherine Lake, Bethel & Faith, SDA Church Family, Turning Point, Independent Living, Human Services, as well as the staff and families from Stretcher Plus, Meals on Wheels, and the Nina Talking Books Library for the Blind. Her kindness, loyalty, and generosity will be missed by all who knew her.
A service to celebrate Keturah’s life will be held on April 13, at the Bethel Seventh-Day Adventist Church, located at #2 Williams Delight. The viewing will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Keturah will be laid to rest at Kinghills Cemetery.
While we mourn her loss, we also give thanks for the rich, loving life she led. Her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
May her soul rest in eternal peace.
