Louise A. Samuel of King Street, Frederiksted, died on Aug. 7. She was 87 years old.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eberth L. Samuel; mother, Evadney Petersen; and father, James A. Petersen.
She is survived by her daughters: Cheryl Battiste Gray and Okeda Samuel; sons: Renwick Samuel and James Battiste; grandchildren: Raheem Craft, Kealonie Richards, Kurame Richards, Asheela Heywood, Kente McClure, Keshyra Jones and Kianna Wesson; sisters: Arlene A. Abrahams and Amelia Joseph; brother: Leon Michael A. Petersen; and nieces: Sharon Rogers Drummer, Evadney Rogers Key, Brenda Rogers Booker, Kerisha Gill, Kirsten A. Ottley, Deborah Petersen Patrick, Julia Eaglin Davis, Yvette Petersen-Jones Sherman, Lisa Lenhardt, Michelle Lenhardt James, Tina Harley, Shauda Petersen Collier, Shayna Petersen and Maunia Petersen Roberts.
She is also survived by nephews: Peter Abrahams, Karl Abrahams, Jens Abrahams, Shadrach Gill Jr., Howard A. Gill, Cephus Rogers Jr., John Rogers, James Rogers, Floyd Rogers and Laurent Harley; brother-in-law, Frederick Joseph; sisters-in-law: Ellen Petersen and Luisa Petersen; and godchildren: Robertine Payne Stroter, Aubrey Payne, Nikki Nathaniel, Resa Nielsen, MD., Linda Sealey-Cipriani and Monique Moorehead;
Other survivors include special friends: Dawn Rogers, Irvin Francis, Elizabeth Brow Hartzhop, John DeGrasse, Teddie Brow, Lester Henry, Isidore Griles, Edna Roberts, Bernadette Greenidge, Migdalia Nieves, Vivian Mason, Anabelle Stevens, Patricia Williams, Barry Dias and Janet Jonas; and cousins and other relatives: Karen Bruce, Vilma Johnson, (Bruce McIntosh family) and Neazer family. as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
The viewing will be held at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 27, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
