A man who appeared to be intoxicated was arrested after interfering with officers as they carried out an arrest at Oswald Harris Court, the Virgin Islands Police Department announced.
According to police, officers with the Special Operations Bureau were escorting an arrestee out of the building on March 28, at approximately 8:40 p.m., when 36-year-old Curvin Thomas stood in the middle of the archway, blocking their path. Officers ordered Thomas to move, but he refused to comply.
When officers attempted to take him into custody, Thomas allegedly tried to trip one of them by placing his legs between the officer’s legs. While being transported to the Alexander Farrelly Justice Complex, he threatened to kill the officers, according to the police report.
Thomas was arrested on charges of interfering with an officer discharging duties, disobeying a lawful order, disorderly conduct, and aggravated assault. Bail was set at $1,000, the police report stated.
