Red Hind Spawning Aggregation Area at Lang Bank Closed to Fishing Beginning Dec. 1

Commissioner Jean-Pierre L. Oriol of the Department of Planning and Natural Resources informs the public that on Dec. 1 the Red Hind Spawning Aggregation Area at Lang Bank will be closed to all fishing. No harvest of any species is permitted within the delineated boundary of the Red Hind Spawning Aggregation Area from Dec. 1, 2021 until Feb. 28, 2022.

To protect Virgin Islands resources for the present and future benefit of the people of the Virgin Islands, fishing with pots, traps, bottom long-lines and nets is prohibited in the Red Hind Spawning Aggregation Area.
