On March 22, the St. Croix Track Club showcased their talent at AAJI’s Segunda Clasificatoria Juvenil, the second qualifier for the AAJI League for athletes 14 and older, held in Villalba, Puerto Rico. This qualifier concentrated on jumps, middle-distance and distance events. The club sent three talented athletes who delivered commendable performances.

Safiya Prasad, competing in the 14-15 age group, showcased her exceptional talent in the 800 meters. She secured a second-place finish with a personal best time of 2:23.96.
In the 16-17 age group, Isaiah Benjamin took on the challenge of the long jump. Isaiah finished seventh with a personal best of 5.00 meters (16 feet 4.75 inches).
David Morton competed in both the 1500 meters and the 3000 meters in the 16-17 age group. In the 1500 meters, David finished 15th with a time of 4:51.30. He also participated in the 3000 meters, where he placed 13th with a personal best of 10:52.55.
The St. Croix Track Club continues to foster young talent, providing them with opportunities to compete at high levels and achieve personal bests. The performances of Safiya, Isaiah, and David are a source of pride for the club and the entire St. Croix community. As these young athletes continue to train and compete, they are sure to inspire others and bring further recognition to the St. Croix Track Club.
