“Allow us to tell you a bit more about who we are and what we’re up to. If you’re interested in cultural heritage preservation, decolonization, environmental justice, affordable housing, racial justice or any of our core values, come and join us! Let’s organize together and create a more equitable St. John!” the St.JanCo Board said in a statement.
Known as St. Jan.Co, The St. John Heritage Collective is a community land trust on the small island of St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands. Its mission is to preserve the history, identity and culture of St. John’s people, especially those whose ancestry on St. John predates the 1917 American Purchase of the U.S. Virgin Islands from Denmark and the 1956 establishment of the Virgin Islands National Park.
