Sun Shines Down on Rescheduled MLK Day Picnic for Peace

AARP members sevred up complimentary lunch.

The sun was shining this time as the St. John Community Crisis Center (SJCCC) hosted the rescheduled Martin Luther King Jr. Day Picnic for Peace on Saturday afternoon February 2, at the National Park ball field in Cruz Bay.

SJCCC staff, family, friends and community members gathered in the ball field to watch an impressive performance by the Love City Leapers. Members of the local AARP chapter helped serve a delicious and complimentary lunch to all attendees and children were kept busy at an arts and crafts table.

 Electrical Problems Delay Inner Visions
Although electrical problems delayed the performance of the island’s premier reggae band, Inner Visions, residents at the SJCCC Martin Luther King Jr. Day picnic enjoyed each other’s company and celebrated the civil rights leader’s lasting legacy.
