VIDOH Announces Carnival Closure Dates

With St. Thomas Carnival quickly approaching, the VI Department of Health announced the closure of the following offices, clinics, and the Community Vaccination Centers.

The Community Vaccine Centers and all VIDOH clinics and administrative offices in the St. Thomas/St. John/Water Island District will be closed on Wednesday, April 27, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., and on Thursday, April 28, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

On Friday, April 29th, all VIDOH offices, clinics, and CVCs will be closed in both Districts from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Even though there will be closures in the St. Thomas/St. John District, during the Carnival schedule, the public is reminded that there will be a VIDOH van and a tent at the Carnival Village to provide COVID-19 vaccines and COVID-19, HIV, and STD testing, each night from 7 to 10 p.m.

Additionally, anyone who becomes fully vaccinated through April 30, whether at the clinics or at the Village or Food Fair, will receive the $250 incentive gift card.

The Department also asks residents to protect themselves and their loved ones throughout the Carnival festivities by following the recommended guidelines on hand-washing and social distancing, especially with persons they do not reside and encourages all residents to wear masks specifically when in large crowds.
