VING Plans Events to Include ‘A Day of Remembrance’ for Sept. 10 — Oct. 28

Joint Force Headquarters – Virgin Islands National Guard

The Virgin Islands National Guard invites the community to join it for a “Day of Remembrance,” which will be held from 4-6 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 10, at the Veterans Drive Promenade on St. Thomas.

It also invites the families of the dearly departed to participate when soldiers and airmen honor the Virgin Islands National Guard (VING) service members who have died within the past 50 years.

In light of VING’s 50th commemorative anniversary, this special occasion displays its continued commitment to honoring its fallen, their families and loved ones.

Other upcoming events:

  • A Church Service will be held on Sunday, Oct. 1, at the City of Refuge Worship Center, St. Croix, starting at 10 a.m. A link will also be provided to view the event live on Facebook.
  • VING’s 50th Anniversary Poker Run will be held on Oct. 8; the route will be from Frederiksted to Christiansted.
  • Golf Tournament featuring the Links to Freedom, will be held on Sunday, Oct. 15, at the Buccaneer Golf Course.
  • The VING 50th Anniversary Ball is scheduled for October.
  • The Adjutant General’s 5K Glow Run, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 28, in Christiansted.
