VIPD Investigates Vandalism at McDonald’s in La Reine, St. Croix

The Virgin Islands Police Department is investigating an overnight act of vandalism at McDonald’s in La Reine, St. Croix.

According to time-stamped video footage released, the incident occurred around 12:13 a.m. Thursday. The footage shows a suspect dressed in a black shirt, jeans, and a beanie holding what appears to be a golf club. Within seconds, he is seen smashing the restaurant’s windows and main entrance door before fleeing the area with the club still in hand. The video can be viewed on the Source Facebook page.

Employees arriving for their scheduled shifts in the morning were seen standing outside the McDonald’s, visibly shocked by what had happened overnight.

When the Source asked employees whether anything had been stolen, they stated that, according to the VIPD, no items were taken. Shortly after, staff entered the restaurant and could be seen cleaning up the damage.

The investigation remains ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Virgin Islands Police Department.
