WTJX: ‘Recovery in Focus’ to Feature Update on Schools

The Office of Disaster Recovery (ODR) and the Virgin Islands Housing Finance Authority (VIHFA), in collaboration with WTJX-TV Channel 12, will broadcast the next episode of “Recovery in Focus” at 8 p.m., Thursday, May 28, on WTJX and Facebook Live at www.facebook.com/wtjx.

This third episode will highlight the Virgin Islands Department of Education (DOE), its vision for new schools in the territory, and the department’s progress towards the goals outlined in the Facilities Master Plan.

Adrienne L. Williams-Octalien, director of the Office of Disaster Recovery, will host the show. She will be joined by guests from DOE: Commissioner Racquel Berry-Benjamin, Assistant Commissioner Victor Somme III, Chief Operating Officer Dr. Dionne Wells-Hedrington and architect Channel Callwood.

WTJX will also share the broadcast online on its live stream www.wtjx.org/livestream/ and the PBS app, which can be viewed via TV streaming devices such as Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Firestick, etc., as well as on smart devices.

“Recovery in Focus” premiered in March and will continue to provide viewers with the most recent developments in Office of Disaster Recovery’s five priority areas: hospitals, schools, roads, housing and power, as well as other critical projects that impact the daily lives of residents. A new episode of “Recovery in Focus” will air on the last Thursday of every month.
