13th Annual Love City Triathlon and Aquathon is September 2

Swimmers transition to biking at Maho Bay.

How exciting has it been to watch the 2012 Summer Olympics? Swimming, gymnastics, track and field, cycling, volleyball, sailing — too many sports to name!

It has all been very thrilling and hopefully it has put everyone in the mood for a little competition on St. John.
If so, get ready for the 13th Annual Love City Triathlon and Aquathon. The event is just on the horizon, but there is still time to register.

Registration forms can be picked up at the Tap Room on St. John.  It cost $40 to register and the race is Sunday, September 2, at 7 a.m. so hurry up and get in there quick to sign up.  There will be no registration the morning of the event.

There is a mandatory pre-race meeting on Saturday, September 1, at 4 p.m. at Maho Bay Camps, when race T-shirts and swag will be distributed.

Competitors can take part in either the Aaquathon, a half-mile swim and three-mile run, or the Triathlon, a half-mile swim, a 14 mile bike ride and 4.2-mile run. Relay teams are allowed in the triathlon, but not the aquathon. Volunteers are needed!

For more information about the race go to www.stjohnlandsharks.com and to volunteer call Jude Woodcock at 779-1416.
