18-Year-Old Arrested on St. Croix in Armed Carjacking Investigation

On Tuesday, a search and arrest warrant for Isaac Frontal of Barren Spot, St. Croix, was executed for a series of robberies that occurred on July 31, 2021, according to police.

Frontal was charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, assault, possession of stolen property, unauthorized use of a vehicle, and disturbance of the peace by threats.

Frontal’s arrest stemmed from a series of robberies that included the alleged carjacking of an elderly woman, the V.I. Police Department said in a press release Tuesday night. On the same day, the suspects allegedly attempted to rob several individuals at gunpoint using their white four-door sedan.

According to police, a robbery was also reported at the Coral Edge Bar and Restaurant in La Vallee, Christiansted. A man was allegedly robbed at gunpoint for his personal belongings and his scooter.

The victim told police that the driver stepped out of a white four-door sedan and pointed a handgun at him, and another demanded his scooter keys and drove off with it.

VIPD officers reported that they saw Frontal and his accomplices in the area of Morning Star as they sped on the North Shore Road on the stolen scooter and the white four-door sedan. The police pursued the vehicles into Harbor View Housing Community but lost sight of them. Police later recovered the white four-door sedan but never regained the scooter.

Based on information received and investigative work, the police were able to determine that Frontal was the person operating the stolen scooter when VIPD pursued him, according to Tuesday’s release.

Bail was set at $100,000. Unable to post bail, Frontal was remanded to the John A. Bell Adult Correctional Facility pending his Advice of Rights Hearing.
