ALERT: Update on Large Electrical Service Interruption

Randolph E. Harley Power Plant on St. Thomas

A major electrical service interruption is affecting customers in the St. Thomas-St. John District. The interruption is a result of the loss of generation capacity at the Randolph Harley Power Plant. Plant personnel are working to rebuild generation capacity ahead of restoring service to the affected customers.

Electrical service restoration is underway following a district-wide service interruption which affected all customers on St. Thomas, St. John, Water Island and Hassel Island. The service interruption began at approximately 1:35 a.m. when the Randolph Harley Power Plant lost all generation capacity.

Restoration was underway at 2:31 a.m. with customers on Feeders 5A, 6A, 7A, 9B, and 10B back online. All customers will be restored as generation capacity builds at the power plant.
