The Virgin Islands Port Authority (VIPA) will conduct a simulated emergency drill at the Cyril E. King Airport on Tuesday, Oct. 23. The drill is conducted to test the viability of the airport’s emergency response plan, the roles and responsibilities of mutual aid partners, response times, available resources and inter-operability.

This drill is also a requirement to maintain the airport’s certification under the Federal Aviation Administration’s Code of the Federal Regulations Section, according to a press release from VIPA.
