Ana L. Ilarraza Dies

Ana L. Ilarraza

We regret to announce the passing of Ana L. Ilarraza, affectionately known as Ms. Ana. She was a native of Puerto Rico, born July 13, 1932, who made St. Thomas her home for the past 70 years. She served as a teacher at the former Abraham Lincoln School from 1955 to 1958, which was renamed the J. Antonio Jarvis Elementary School.

Thereafter, she worked at the Department of Family Services, now the Department of Human Services, where she served as the social director of welfare and later became the district chief of the Division of Food Stamps.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesús Ilarraza; sisters: Victoria Agosto and Roseanna Parris; brother, Eugenio Agosto; daughter, Elisa Henry; and grandchildren: Kim Parris, Komorr Donastorg, Vasheo Donastorg and Bertstrand Gilkes.

The Memorial Service for Ana L. Ilarraza will be held at the Lutheran Church of the Reformation on at 10 a.m., March 18. Tributes may be sent to ana.l.ilarrazatributes@gmail.com by March 13 to
