A V.I. Fire Department tank truck heading out of Cruz Bay on Centerline road overturned on Friday morning, Feb. 3, at a bend in the road near Pastory Gardens.
The driver and passenger were not injured, and the fire truck was heading to a house fire at the time of the accident, according to a V.I. Police Department officer directing traffic at the scene. Employees from DPNRÂ’s Environmental Protection Division and the V.I.F.D. worked to prevent oil leaking from the overturned truck from running into a nearby storm drain. The new truck may be repairable, according to officials.
