Armed Robbery Reported Near Elysian Beach Resort

Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Tuesday evening near the Elysian Beach Resort on St. Thomas, the Virgin Islands Police Department reported.

The victim told officers he was robbed at gunpoint around 7:04 p.m. in the parking lot across from the resort. He reported that an unknown African American man approached him, ordered him to hand over his property, and then fled on foot while pointing a handgun in his direction, according to the police report.

Police said the suspect was described as a light-skinned Black male wearing a black ski mask, a black long-sleeved shirt, black gloves, black pants, and carrying a black handgun. He appeared to be about 5 feet 9 inches tall and approximately 130 pounds, the police report stated.

The suspect left the parking lot and disappeared into the darkness, police said.
