Arrest Made in Peter’s Rest Mass Shooting Incident

A St. Croix man was arrested for the March 4th mass shooting near Tipsy Iguana, the V.I. Police Department reported Friday.

On June 29, this case was filed with the Superior Court and an arrest warrant was signed by the Court for Devonte George’s arrest. His bail was set at $75,000, according to the police report.

On Tuesday, George, 18, turned himself into the authorities. He was advised of his rights and placed under arrest without incident, the police report stated.

He was charged with assault in the first degree, reckless endangerment first, assault in the third, carrying of firearm openly or concealed, aiming, and discharging a firearm, the report stated.

George’s bail was set at $75,000. Unable to post his bail, he was remanded to the John Bell Correctional Facility.
