Board of Nurse Licensure Reminds Nurses of Renewals and CNA Examinations

Virgin Islands Board of Nurse Licensure (VIBNL) Chairperson Ann Douté reminds all advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) and registered nurses (RNs) that application packets for renewal period 2020-2021 should be submitted no later than Dec. 15.

All packets must be received by Dec. 15, 2019, to ensure license approval and issuance by Jan. 1, 2020. Applications received or postmarked after Dec. 31, will incur a lapsed penalty fee of $200 for active status renewal and $30 for inactive status renewal in addition to the renewal fee to renew the license.

All appropriate fees should be submitted via a certified check or money order. The VIBNL will not accept cash, personal checks, or international payment instruments. Applications are available by contacting the Board of Nurse Licensure office or online at the Department of Health’s website: www.doh.vi.gov.

The board also announces that preparations are underway for the Nursing Assistant Certification Examination. Individuals who are interested in taking their skill and written examinations for certification are requested to contact the board before Dec. 5. Please contact the Board of Nurse Licensure’s office to receive an application.

Please note that the office will be closed to the public from Dec. 20, 2019 through Jan. 2, 2020, for end of year reconciliation; it will re-open on Jan. 3, 2020.
