Bomb Threat Shuts VINP Visitors Center

The V.I. National Park Visitors Center in Cruz Bay was evacuated early Thursday morning, December 29, after a VINP ranger received a bomb threat on her cell phone.

Once the threat was received, VINP officials called 911, which sent V.I. Fire Department and V.I. Police Department officials into action. The agencies helped VINP secure the area and evacuate the Visitors Center while officials waited for a VIPD bomb sniffing canine unit to arrive from St. Thomas. Federal Bureau of Investigation officials will lead the investigation on the bomb threat. See Monday’s St. John Tradewinds for full story.
