Camille White Blakey Dies at 83

Camille White Blakey

Camille W. Blakey died peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on July 15. She was 83 years old at the end of her life journey.

Mrs. Blakey was preceded in death by her parents: Charles Burris White and Myrtle Conley White; sisters-in-law: Brenda Ashe and Rosalind Hicks; and brother-in-law, Clarence Wallace Hicks.

She is survived by, husband, Noel G Blakey; daughters: Monique Blakey and Renee Blakey; grandchildren: Jamari Venzen, Kareem Sealey, Lamar Sealey and Chad Lewis; godchildren: Ingrid Bough and Cheru Ross, Michael Canton, Casey Canton, Rupert Ross Jr. and Edgar Ross; and brothers-in-law: Donald Blakey and Harry Bell.

She is also survived by nieces and nephews: Donna Blakey, Denver Blakey, Dolan Blakey, Lisa Bell, Tracy Bell, Twyla Fletcher, Rayne Fletcher, Sean Ashe, Kia Hicks and Jacquelyn Forde; and great nieces and nephews: Dominique Blakey, Daphne Blakey, Rosa White, JP White, Robert White, Donald Fountain, Roslyn Davis and Sydney Fletcher.

Other survivors include special life-long friends: Rupert and Cheryl Ross, Wanda Hamilton, Tina Canady-Guinn, Jean Canton, Anita Plaskett, Sisters of the Mu Gamma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., the Tranberg family, and the Sugar Shack Socialites. Also left to mourn are many family members and friends too numerous to mention.

A viewing will be held at 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m., Friday, July 28, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Reverend Donald G. Kerr will officiate; the organist will be Alvin M.A. Milligan. Interment will follow at the Frederiksted Cemetery.
