For the first time in recent memory Caneel Bay Resort will be closing its doors for two months this summer.
Resort officials posted a notice on their website announcing that the property would be closed from September 1 through October 31.
The move reflects the both the time of year and the climate at the former Rockefeller property, explained Caneel managing director Nikolay Hotze.
“With hurricane scares that time of year and business being slow anyway, we decided it would be a good idea to close,” said Hotze. “We will do some small capital projects during that time. Nothing big, but we’ll use that time wisely.”
