
Carmen Serrano-Springer of Union and Mount Washington died on Sept. 4 at the Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital on St. Croix. She was 86 years old.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Jesus Serrano and Julia Almestica Serrano; daughter, Judith Magras; son, Carl Decicco; and siblings: Serafin Serrano, Herman Serrano, Gilberto Serrano, Theodore Serrano and Angelina Serrano.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth G. Springer; daughter, Charmin L. Springer; sons: Jacques Magras, Basilio Felix, Jose Ortiz, Andrew F. Corriette Jr., Kenneth R. Springer and their children; her stepchildren: Charlene Springer, Gary Springer, Ian Springer, Alene Springer, Robert Springer, Nicole Springer and Nicholas Springer; and daughters-in-law: Jasmine John and Gloribel Corriette.
She is also survived by sisters: Noria Ash and Olimpia Serrano and their children; brother, Moises Serrano and his children. Other survivors include numerous beloved relatives, Maria Serrano-Rodriguez, special friends, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and loved ones too numerous to mention.
The family sincerely apologizes if anyone has been overlooked.
The viewing will be held at 9 a.m. and the funeral service will commence at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at Divine Funeral Services and Crematory at 129 Peter’s Rest, Christiansted, St. Croix.
A private Sea Burial for family members will be launched at 7 a.m., Friday, Sept. 13, from the downtown Christiansted dock.
