Children’s Village Is Safe Haven for St. John Youth

Frogs were flying through the sky and basketballs were whizzing into hoops near the Cruz Bay Creek on Monday night, June 29, as Children’s Festival Village got underway for the week.

Sponsored by Rotary Club St. John and the St. John Community Foundation, the annual Children’s Village ran nightly from June 29 through July 4 from 6 to 9 p.m. A team of volunteers ran a number of exciting games as eager children crowded around waiting for their turn.

In addition to games of skill, the children also enjoyed face painting, strong man swinging and moonwalk jumping.

A number of residents pitched in to ensure the success of the drug- and alochol-free Children’s Village for St. John Festival 2009.
