CIB Investigating Sub Base Shooting, Two Injured

Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives were dispatched to Schneider Regional Medical Center on Saturday at 3:30 a.m. to investigate an incident involving two men who were shot near the Nisky Center on St. Thomas.

The detectives spoke to the two victims, who stated that after attending a graduation function at Krush Night Club in Sub Base, they were walking with friends to their vehicle parked near the Nisky Center, police reported. They said a Black man approached them from behind and fired several shots as they attempted to get in the vehicle, the report stated.

The victims were shot several times and taken to the hospital in private vehicles, police said.

The victims sustained numerous injuries to the leg, shoulder, chest, and spine and were admitted to the hospital, the report stated. According to an emergency room physician, they might have to be airlifted stateside for further treatment, it said.
