Islas Virgenes de los Estados Unidos, better known as the United States Virgin Islands, ISV, started their second game of the 2023 Pre-Qualifying Olympic Tournament, scorching hot, shooting a blazing 70 percent from 3-point land in the first quarter against Colombia.

Jahsean Corbett made four of the five shots he took from distance and teammate Guy Ragland made both of his attempts from behind the arc, giving ISV a seemingly safe 31-17 lead going into the second stanza.

Unfortunately for the Virgin Islands, all good things usually come to an end, and the end came quickly as they could only muster 9 points in the second quarter.  ISV men only made 4 of 21 three-point attempts for the balance of the game.  While the Colombians found their stroke in the second dropping 25 points to take a two-point lead into intermission.

In the second half, the South American team continued to dominate this game, scoring 55 points while holding the Virgin Islands to just 34 points for the entire second half. Jaime Echenique led the scoring for Colombia with a game-high 20 points. Corbett was the top scorer once again, with 19 points for the Virgin Islands. The win squares the Colombian tournament record at 1-1 as they dropped their tournament opener to Uruguay. ISV found themselves winless in two games played. The Virgin Islands will play their final scheduled game on Thursday against Uruguay at 6:40 p.m. local time.
