Criminal Investigation Bureau Investigating Assault on St. Thomas

 

Police are investigating an alleged assault at a Smith Bay bar on Saturday that left a woman with deep cuts to her face and arms.

The victim, who was taken to Roy Lester Schneider Medical Center, told police that she was sitting at Bob’s Bar with a friend around 9 p.m. when her fiancé’s ex-girlfriend started to insult her, according to a news release from the V.I. Police Department.

The victim, who police said is in her early 30s, asked the woman to step outside so they could talk and was then beaten up and assaulted with what appeared to be a blade before the woman fled the scene, the news release stated.

The victim was treated for lacerations and released from the hospital, police said.
