The U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Human Services (DHS) – Office of Child Care and Regulatory Services (OCCRS) has announced the availability of applications for the 2019 Children’s Summer Camps. OCCRS is responsible for the licensing and regulating child care facilities/summer camps throughout the territory.
All interested parties are advised that applications must be completed along with all the necessary documents to ensure that the licensing requirements are met. DHS reminds the public that individuals who operate a facility or summer camp without a license or certificate as contained in the rules and regulations or who places a public advertisement for an unlicensed facility is subject to a civil penalty of not more than $1,000 each day of violation and for each act of violation.
Applications are available at the Office of Child Care and Regulatory Services by district. On St. Croix they are at 6179 Estate Anna’s Hope (in the same building as the Office of Preschool Services, Head Start) or call (340) 773-1972. On St. Thomas, applications are available at 1303 Hospital Ground at the Knud Hansen Complex or call (340) 774-0930.
The application packages can be picked up between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. The deadline for submission of applications is 4 p.m., May 15.
