DHS Reminds SNAP/CASH Households of Deadline for Recertification Applications, Periodic Reports

The Virgin Islands Department of Human Services (VIDHS) Division of Family Assistance Certification Unit reminds all Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP/CASH) households in the U.S. Virgin Islands of the approaching deadline for the submission of vital recertification applications, periodic reports and additional information documents.

Here is what an applicant needs to know:

  1. Review Due Dates: It is important that the applicant carefully review the due dates specified on each document received. These due dates are critical to maintaining benefits without interruption.
  2. Timely Submission: Failure to submit recertification applications, periodic reports or requested additional information by the designated due dates may result in the suspension of the applicant’s benefit uploads to an EBT card. In some instances, this may lead to the closure of the applicant’s case, and the individual will have to reapply.
  3. First-Time Applicants: If the applicant is a first-time applicant, please ensure the following:
  • Complete the application packets in full.
  • Include copies of all mandatory documents.
  • Sign and date the application for processing.
