DLCA to Hold Licensing Task Force Meeting April 26

Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs

The Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs (DLCA) Commissioner Nominee Richard T. Evangelista Esq., will convene the first Licensing Task Force meeting on Friday, April 26.

“Currently, DLCA serves as the compliance and enforcement arm for the other government agencies so it is often characterized as the bump in the road,” said Evangelista. “The goal is to address those bumps and find solutions that will create a more efficient process in each respective agency to allow DLCA to process the application in a timely manner.”

DLCA has invited the Virgin Islands Bureau of Internal Revenue, Department of Health, Department of Planning and Natural Resources, Virgin Islands Fire Services and Office of the Lieutenant Governor — Division of Corporation and Trademarks. These departments will collaborate to identify the strengths and stretches of the current licensing process. This meeting will be the first of an ongoing series of departmental partnerships.
