The Virgin Islands Department of Labor (VIDOL) and the Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs (DLCA) are partnering to host a series of town hall meetings to hear from residents about the territory’s recovery and transition into hurricane season. The VIDOL and DLCA are partnering to increase business compliance and advocacy, support consumer participation in the local economy and bolster economic development. Town hall meetings will take place on the following schedule:

· St. Croix: May 6, 6-8 p.m. at Sunny Isles Shopping Center
· St. Thomas: May 8, 6-8 p.m. at Emancipation Garden
· St. John: May 9, 6-8 p.m. at Legislature Room

“Utilizing data, providing public forums and increasing compliance is the beginning of making an impact in the market and workplaces of our communities. By forecasting labor events and reporting consumer issues, this partnership can also achieve economic milestones that may be 10 years ahead of their time,” said VIDOL Commissioner Nominee Gary Molloy.

“By taking this information-centered approach, we also aim to educate the public and help consumers make better decisions when navigating the markets of the Virgin Islands,” said Molloy.
