Duval O. Briscoe Dies at 58

Duval O. Briscoe

Duval O. Briscoe, also known as “Du” or “Ras Du,” of Estate Sunny Acres died on Dec. 21. He was 58 years old.

Duval was preceded in death by his parents: Rose Ballentine Christian-James, Duval A. Briscoe and Samuel James; siblings: Marcella and Leona Christian, Idalia Payne and Arlene Lucas, Eugene D. Briscoe and Dr. Warrren D. Briscoe.

He is survived by his daughters: Asha and Ashley Briscoe, Shamira and Shanice Prevo; sons: Duval O. Briscoe Jr., Duval A. and Ashton Briscoe; grandchildren: A’zahni Allen, Zaliah Ruiz, Jahmiya and Jahkara Briscoe, Zachariah Applewhite and Jeremiah Todd; and sisters: Yvonne Christian, Avilda Augustin, Sonia Joseph and Diana James.

He is also survived by brothers: Mario Christian, Valero Christian, Joseph A. James and Pastor John D. Briscoe; sisters-in-law: Lilliete James, Trevena Briscoe, Levell Briscoe and Milagros Christian; and special and nieces and nephews: Pearline Christian, Laverne Brown, Sheneika Joseph, Quana Hassell, Omar Henry, Linroy Forde, Tedroy Lake, Larry Williams, Randy Lawrence, Sylvester Augustin, Rakeem Jules and John Briscoe Jr.

Other survivors include special cousin, Dale “Wobble” Parris; godchildren: Jamallia Dee, Delishya and Delani Benjamin; special friends: Lloyd Sullivan, Dalton Benjamin, Joseph “Abba” Francis, Sheldon Shallow, Kenrick Flores, Resheed Ali and The Sunny Isle Crew; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

The viewing will be held at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m., Monday, Jan.16, at Refuge Tabernacle Church. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
