The Earle B. Ottley Legislative main building will be temporarily closed from Thursday, Nov. 8-11, because of an abatement effort that is planned during the course of those days.

The Capitol Building was adversely impacted by hurricanes Irma and Maria. The grounds received damages as well as the exterior and interior of the building. In the wake of the hurricanes, restoration efforts have been ongoing throughout the year.

The closure of the main building does not affect the legislative annex buildings, which will be opened to conduct business.
Lastly, the Committee on Finance, chaired by Sen. Kurt Vialet, is scheduled to meet at 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 9, in the Cleone H. Creque Conference Room on St. John. The meeting is open to the public.

Senate meetings will continue to be broadcast via Viya Cable Channel 26, WVSE 91.9 FM, www.facebook.com/USVILegislature and on www.livestream.com/legittv.

On Monday, Nov. 12, the Legislature will be closed in observance of Veterans Day and will reopen on Tuesday, Nov. 13, for regular business.
