Edward O. Callwood Dies at 66

Edward O. Callwood

Edward O. Callwood, also known as “Gobey” or “Familia,” died on Aug. 17, at the age of 66 on St. Thomas.

Edward was preceded in death by his son, Malik Callwood.

He is survived by wife, Damaris Esquea Callwood; son, Abdul Callwood; granddaughter, Jadiah Callwood; sisters: Ritzia George and Laverne Callwood-Frett; brother, Tyronne Molyneaux; aunt, Gertrude Parsons; nieces: Cheryl Van Putten and Norecia Martin; and nephews: Taku Van Putten, Dwane Callwood Sr., Joren Dickerson, Loren Callwood and Hakim Callwood.

He is also survived by sister-in-law, Claudine Van Putten; brother-in-law, Almond “Butchie” Frett; special cousin, TinTin Callwood Hart; lifelong companion, Edith Blyden; personal friends: Anthony Hunt, Otis Martin, Alford Shoy and Rastaman; and extended families: Blyden, Callwood, Dennery, George, Henley, Monsanto, Richardson, Van Putten, Inspection Lane, Lime St. and T’s Chicken Fry.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral service of the late Edward Callwood on Wednesday, Aug. 28, at the St. Andrews Episcopal Church. The viewing will be held at 9 a.m. with the service following at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Western Cemetery No. 2.
