Events To Mark VINP 50th Anniversary

Work continues on the National Park Visitors Center garden honoring the role of private philanthropy.

 

The National Park Service will mark the 50th Anniversary of the Virgin Islands National Park in a ceremony at the National Park ball field from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, December 1.

As part of the event, there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the permanent exhibit and garden honoring private philanthropy adjacent to the Visitors Center in Cruz Bay

Newly appointed National Park Service Director Mary Bomar will be the honored guest and keynote speaker and will cut the ribbon opening the garden.

There will be a 50th Anniversary affair featuring dinner, dancing and more at the Turtle Bay Estate House at Caneel Bay Resort Friday evening.
