Expect Traffic Delays as Electrical Underground Project Begins on St. John

The motoring public on St. John is reminded that, beginning Monday, the ongoing electrical underground project will involve trenching and conduit installation from Mongoose Junction towards downtown Cruz Bay, the V.I. Water and Power Authority said in a press release.

Traffic flow will be adversely affected, and flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic control. Motorists are asked to proceed through the work area with caution.

The project replaces overhead electrical lines and equipment with underground facilities to minimize service restoration time in the aftermath of hurricanes and other windstorms, WAPA said.
